“Baby Steps”
We are quickly finding out that opening an online store is a learning process. It can be stressful at times, but I have to admit I am having fun. We are getting there slowly but surely. You can now contact us on through the store site, or face book. No thanks to me. That’s all Leigh. She has also been able to get a few adds out. She deserves a big hand. Without her I would still be sitting here writing to my self.
We’ve also been adding to our inventory. This weekend, at the flea market store, we came across some very nice crystals. Most were various types of calcite, but there were some others. I found a very nice labradorite stone. I waisted no time polishing it. I ended up with a very nice, 216ct policed labradorite. It has a blue flash that covers the entire top, and changes in intensity with the angle of the light striking it’s surface. If you can’t tell, I like this stone. Leigh will add it to the inventory before long and you’ll be able to see for yourself. I’m going to carry it around for a few more days before I come to terms with sitting it free.
I also began polishing some beautiful Brazilian agate slabs. They should be up before long. We’ll have some petrified wood from Texas ready too. I’ve got it, but I think it will look better for you if it were split and polished. It was a little larger than I expected, but it Texas petrified wood. A lot to do, but I’m happy to have it to do.
We are members of the Mobile Rock and Gem Society. Very intelligent and just nice people to be around. We have a meeting tonight, and at the end of each meeting there’s a silent auction. I’m going to put one of the dragon stones up and see how it goes. If you are not familiar with “dragon stones,” you can go back in the journal and reed “Great Balls of Mud.”
Speaking of the rock club meeting, it looks like I’m running short on time. I’ll let you know how the auction goes tonight. Have a great night. Thank you all, and I’ll write again soon.
